Textile microfibre sorbents are divided into hydrophobic and hydrophilic.

Hydrophobic version consists of Oil Only sorbents whereas hydrophilic consists of universal and chemical sorbents.

Universal (hydrophilic) sorbents are truly versatile in their use because they absorb all types of non-aggressive liquids, such as oil substances, organic substances, and aqueous solutions of acids and alkalis. Universal sorbents, as well as chemical sorbents, are not recommended for oil spillage on water. Their use is especially suitable where there are permanent small leaks of various fluids, emulsions, generally to prevent any leaks. Universal sorbents are supplied in gray.

Universal absorbents are hydrophilic. They absorb and contain non-aggressive liquids such as fuels, oils, solvents, and mild chemicals both oil and water-based.

Universal sheets, rolls, snakes, drum toppers and pillows are fast and highly absorbent and keep good tensile properties even when saturated. Grey colour hiding the dirt make these products suitable for applications in machinery maintenance, garage and vehicle maintenance, traffic around machinery, lining of work benches and more.

Used absorbents can be properly incinerated to reduce disposal cost. Spunbond covering layer from both sides of meltblown to provide high durability, tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Bonded by points. Excellent absorbency and fluid retention. Thanks to spunbond covering layers on both sides linting is reduced dramatically.

SMS composites absorb 12 - 17,5 liters per kilogram of SAE 10W/40 oil on average or 9 liters of water per kilogram of sorbent on average.
